Crocheted Vessels Workshop

with artist Mieke van den Berg

Sat 18 January 2025

10am – 2pm

$50 per person (includes materials and a light morning tea)

Join us for an inspiring and reflective workshop focussing on the art of crochet led by exhibiting artist Mieke van den Berg. Using her exhibit One Thread Many Loops as inspiration, create an ambiguous crocheted wool vessel.

Mieke’s work focuses on making the often-unseen domestic contributions visible through her intricate crocheted pieces. She will demonstrate her method of crochet and process for creating the vessels featured in her exhibition.

This workshop is a powerful opportunity to connect, share stories over tea and coffee, and recognise the value of invisible work through the meditative process of crochet.

All materials will be provided along with tea, coffee and biscuits.

No prior experience is necessary.

Please note: the artist talk, which is open to the general public along with workshop participants, will begin at 10am coinciding with Mieke’s workshop.
