Covid and Me

We are inviting children from Prep to Year 8 to record their thoughts, feelings, experiences and emotions on living through the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic has impacted all of us in varying ways and what better way to document it than to create a work of art!

Since hands on activities are on hold in our Gallery Creative Space, we are making the space available to display the artwork of our young visitors.

Kids can create an individual response, or work with  family or their school; how they approach this is up to them!  We’re asking kids to simply create a drawing that reflects their response to the experience-perhaps a picture of before and now. Maybe they might choose one object which represents COVID-19 to them, or perhaps draw inspiration from a new hobby, skill or friendship. No matter how life has changed, we would love to see this depicted in their unique artwork.
– The artwork will be on display from September 19 to November 7
– Please send in all finished  work by Thursday September 10

This activity is open to students from Prep to Year 8 living in Sunshine Coast and Gympie Region.

– Please include your name, age, email and school (if applicable)
– Paper size A4 or A3
– Paint, draw, print, mixed media – create with whatever your heart desires!
Please post your finished work to PO Box 141, Tewantin Qld 4565 or bring it in to the Gallery at Level 1, 9 Pelican Street, Tewantin
Please note: depending on volume of work received, artwork may not be returned.
