What’s Left Behind is a group exhibition curated by Noosa Regional Gallery Director Michael Brennan as part of the 2019 Floating Land Biennale.

Floating Land: point to point  marks the 10th iteration of Floating Land, one of Noosa’s most significant and iconic cultural events. Conceived in 2001 as a biennial outdoor sculptural program, Floating Land: point to point will have a presence in 2019 across two key anchor sites – Boreen Point and Noosa National Park.

What’s Left Behind builds on the idea central to this iteration of Floating Land. The event’s by-line – point to point – is both an acknowledgement of the two anchor sites for this year’s event, as well as a statement of provocation, asking artists and audiences to consider the way they move through a space and the fact that every journey leaves a mark.

The works presented in this exhibition speak variously of our interactions with a landscape, the marks we leave on it and it on us. A kind of scar, these artist give us pause to reflect on our own experiences of the environment, and the potential for these experiences to leave a lasting impression.
