ASIA PACIFIC CONTEMPORARY : Three Decades of APT
10 Dec 2021 to 27 Feb 2022
A Queensland Art Gallery / Gallery of Modern Art touring exhibition.
This exhibition celebrates the tenth edition of the Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art (APT) with a selection of work by artists featured in the triennial over almost three decades.
Since its inception, the APT has been a pre-eminent platform for the art of Asia, Australia and the Pacific, surveying a vast and dynamic region through a series of exhibitions, forums and cultural exchanges. Artworks have been acquired from each APT by Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art, producing an unrivalled collection of Asian and Pacific art that includes internationally significant works and in‐depth representations of leading artists from throughout the Asia-Pacific dating to the 1980s. Drawing on this collection, Asia Pacific Contemporary presents a panorama of the practices that have made APT so central to understandings of contemporary art in the region.
