THE EDGE EFFECT
PRINTING WITH THE SUN
Get involved in a large-scale community art project for Floating Land 2021!
SATURDAY 28 AUGUST
Harnessing the power of the sun, participants will create a communal cyanotype that will be presented as a signature art project of Floating Land later this year.
Led by contemporary First Nations artist and jeweller, Melissa Stannard (Yuwaaalaraay, Gamilaraay and Koama), The Edge Effect will see the creation of three large collectively-composed sails, laden with images that reflect the diversity of our community.
Please join us and bring along an object that you connect with home or a place that has special meaning to you.
*Objects to consider might be a glass vase, a smoking pipe, a hairbrush, jewellery, an ornament… Choose items that have shape and texture, or which light can pass through in interesting ways like textured glass. These work more successfully than solid objects like books or photographs.
Please note: participants will be filmed and photographed during the event.
Limited places – bookings essential.
