16th-22nd Sept and on display from 23rd Sept to 02 Oct.


Miles started painting in 1998, inspired by the colour, vibrancy and inventiveness of Emily Kngwarreye's work. He has studied Rosalie Gascoigne’s practice and loves the innovation, repetition and the sense of place she conveys.

René Bahloo is a weaver, teacher and an artist. She weaves with the fibre of flow and meaning, spiralling ever outwards in order to manifest beauty and joyful wellbeing. My time and observations are divided between the coastal Wallum and the more dry and sparse inland. As the Australian bush is where I have been lucky enough to live and work for most of my life, it has become the main source of inspiration for my art practice. I have exhibited continually for over forty years in various Australian and New Zealand venues.

Kris Martin and Simon McVerry - CASTAWAY

For Castaway, Kris and Simon combine their mastery of weaving and woodworking, taking their crafts to new heights of collaborations. The Batik style dwelling is created from driftwood, coconut palm frond, paperbark and Cats' Claw weed vines. Through an old satellite dish, solar power, light and antennae, the work aims to stimulate thought and conversation around the impact, both positive and negative, of emerging technologies on traditional cultures.
