Noosa Regional Gallery invites high school students from Year 10, 11 or 12
to submit works for entry in to Draw! 2018.
Draw! is a contemporary Drawing Award open to all Year 10, 11 or 12 students
living on the Sunshine Coast and Gympie Region.

Draw aims to promote drawing as a fundamental step for any arts practice.

Free workshops 

To assist students with their art practice the Noosa Regional Gallery is offering free workshops:

Light, life itself with Cassie Munson

A realism workshop Explore the importance of light in your work and how light and shadow can add realism to an image. Discover how to bring an object, person or animal to life in an image and interpret how that makes your audience feel by relating to the emotion conveyed. 

Date: Saturday 3 March 2018
Time: 1-4pm


Creative line work with Cassie Munson

Story telling through pen design. Inspired by pop art learn about pen and ink design. Relate to your audience in a fun way. Be conceptual, comedic, relevant, irrelevant, ironic, playful.


Date: Sunday 4 March 2018
Time: 1-4pm


Drawing with Artist EJ Zyla

Each workshop will comprise of a series of drawing exercises and experiments.
You will learn new techniques and approaches to drawing through a series of fun
and engaging activities. The workshops will start with the basics - finding ideas,
inspiration and reference
material to draw from. Then move on to building your sketching foundation
using different ways to ‘see’ an object.

Classes with Lyndon Hallows

Wednesday Afternoons
Wednesday 14 February - 21 March 2018
Class times from 3.30 – 5pm
Cost: $120 for a 6 week term. Sibling Discount available.
Artist run classes focussing on foundations of drawing, covering various drawing and observation techniques. Test and experiment with a variety of materials such as charcoal, pencil, pastel and ink. Explore your intentions as an artist and discover how to represent your ideas.
